Definition:

Information and instruction design is the most important part of designing. It gives the designer the power to organise and present their ideas before executing them to their client so no money and or time is wasted. There are no restrictions to which medium it is usable for from web to print it doesn't matter.

Interactive Design

Definition:

Interactive Design is the trade of exploring products and systems that users can interact with. The creation of interactive products is driven by software, mobile devices and many other electronic devices.

Mood Board

A mood board is design using images and text to convey a certain mood of the creator or the creators subject. Mood boards are used to assist graphic designers to achieve the best possible design for its client so they can put everything together for them and then after making the mood board they can then execute a design that will accommodate for the client.

Persona:

Johnny Smith

John is a 75-year-old retired carpenter who still enjoys hikes in national parks and ridding his Harley-Davidson. He looks forward to the local club raffle and a catch up with the boys on a Thursday evening. He also enjoys playing bingo, listening to local radio and watching old western movies with his wife Jill. As he gets older and has to visit the hospital more often, he prefers quick and efficient healthcare with simple, bold instructions and hospital signs. He aims to enjoy the rest of his life traveling a little and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Location: Hobart
Toaster Usage: Unfortunately Johnny has never used a fancy new electric toaster.
Computer/Internet Usage: PC, Occasionally browses the Internet with the help of his grandchildren.
Computer Skill: Novice user. Finds things too complicated on the computer to use. Has an email but doesn’t know how to use it properly.

Steps to making toast

1. Place toaster on a safe surface
   
2. Plug toaster in to power point
   
3. Switch the power on
   
4. Insert no more then 2 pieces of toast
   
5. Choose setting of desired cooking time (light-dark dial)
   
6. Pull down lever and wait for ejection
   
7. Check darkness of toast. Is it medium to dark brown?
   
8. Wait for toast to be cool enough to touch
   
9. Test toast if it is at a touchable temperature
   
10. Place toast on plate
